Scilla Calabria
A town rich in history and mystery amidst the myths and legends of Ulysses
Situated on the Viola coast, Scilla takes its name from the color which the waters assume at certain hours of the day and it is ancient center for the fishing of swordfish with the characteristic boats known as "Passerelle".
Scilla is divided in to three main districts: the bathing area of Marina Grande, the residential area of San Giorgio and he picturesque fishermen's district of Chianalea with its houses built right at the sea's edge. Scilla is famous for its links with the legend of Ulysses.
