Isola di Dino Calabria
One of nature’s masterpieces, a tiny island with a spectacular sea bed and numerous sea caves
The Isola di Dino was once called the "Isola dei Conigli" or "Rabbit Island", due to the great numbers of the animal to inhabit the island. Today, the Isola di Dino represents one of nature's greatest treasures, characterised by an abundance of Mediterranean vegetation and a spectacular sea.
It may not have a single sandy beach, but along its 4 kilometer long perimeter, the Island of Dino boasts a striking number of stunning sea caves: the Grotta del Leone, the Grotta delle Cascate, the Grotta delle Sardine, the Grotta del Frontone and, arguably, the most beautiful of all: the Grotta Azzurra. The walk around the island is an enchanting one, offering a succession of striking views. The sea bed is home to numerous species of marine flora and fauna.
