Hotels to remember: Aspromonte

Aspromonte: introduction

Aspromonte Hotel

Aspromonte is a National Park which covers an extremely diverse territory extending from the shore's edge to the heights of the southern Appenines. Aspromonte is located between the Ionic and Tyrrhenian seas.

The highest mountain peak within the National Park is that of Montalto, reaching an altitude of 1955m. From here one can admire a panorama extending out as far as the Messina Strait. A territory rich in legends, Aspromonte is home to a series of unusual stone formations; curious groups of rocks modelled over time by atmospheric corrosion in to shapes which have resulted in them being given names such as Pietra Castello (Castle Rock), Pietra Lunga (Long Rock), Rocca del Drago (Dragon's Rock), and others still.
